Vivo has launched a new Y-series phone in Taiwan. The Vivo Y55s 5G is the company's new low-cost 5G smartphone. In case you're wondering, the Y55s launched in Taiwan is not the same as the one launched in China in December 2022. The Taiwanese variant of the Y55s 5G uses the same processor as the Chinese variant. Under the hood of both variants is a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC.

Vivo Y55s 5G Price and Specifications
In Taiwan, Vivo has launched the Y55s 5G with two storage options. The phone's base model has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The price is NTD 7,990. (roughly Rs 21,300). The phone is also available in a 6GB + 128GB variant for NTD 8,490. (roughly Rs 22,600). The phone is available in two colours. It is available in the colours Galaxy Blue and Star Black.
The Y55s 5G has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2408. The screen has a 20:9 aspect ratio and an NTSC colour gamut of 96%. The front camera is housed in a waterdrop notch in the top centre. The screen has narrow bezels around it, resulting in a 90.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. A refresh rate of 60Hz is supported.
A MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC powers the device. The phone comes with a 5000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. A microSD card can be used for storage expansion.

A triple-camera setup is located on the back. A 50MP primary camera sensor and a 2MP macro camera are included. On the back, there's also a 2MP portrait sensor. The front camera has an 8MP sensor. The device includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as AI face unlock support.
5G, dual SIM, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack are all supported.
