According to a new leak, the next Need for Speed game could be revealed in early October.

The next Need for Speed game, allegedly titled "Unbound," could be revealed soon. According to a new report by renowned leaker Tom Henderson, the game will be revealed within the next two weeks. Henderson has also speculated that the game could be released in December 2022.

EA has yet to make an official announcement confirming the game's development, let alone a reveal, despite the fact that it is so close to release. Although details about the upcoming arcade racer are scarce, it has been suggested that the game may employ an art style that combines photorealism with elements from anime/manga.

It will be interesting to see what the next Need for Speed game has to offer and whether it can compete with popular racing titles such as Gran Turismo, Forza Horizon, and EA's own F1 22.

For the time being, the title of Need for Speed "Unbound" remains a mystery.

The fact that EA is still keeping the upcoming Need for Speed game under wraps does not instil much confidence in gamers. Typically, marketing for games in major tentpole franchises begins almost a year in advance, so the fact that the game is set to release only months after its rumored reveal date is perplexing.

This type of release and marketing cycle, however, is not new for EA, as it has done with games in the EA UFC franchise. The games are typically announced only a few months before their release date, and this does not appear to have had a significant negative impact on sales.

The competition in the racing game space has increased significantly in recent years, coinciding with the popularity of motorsports and F1. After acquiring Codemasters, EA has seen plenty of success with F1 22, and it remains to be seen whether Need for Speed has the same sort of pull for players as it did nearly a decade ago.
